Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of a software product and what really happens when a website is not working? Interested in knowing on what the movie scenes with people “hacking” into systems are really based on? As a DevOps Engineer Working Student in the SMB Product Romania your primary responsibility is to configure, update and monitor the infrastructure of the products developed by the department, as well to assist senior DevOps .
Working together with the front-end, QA, DevOps and other stakeholders to build a cohesive ecosystem of microservices that will ultimately provide customers with a highly scalable and highly available platform to build their dream on the web.
You will have the help and support of the whole team and especially from one experienced colleague, who will have dedicated time for onboarding and guiding you, for helping you learn our technologies and products, for successfully completing your first tasks.
Main responsibilities:
- Working with and agile team to setup and configure cloud-based environments;
- Package and support deployment of releases with Jenkins;
- Monitor the behavior of the products and work with the rest of the development team on investigating possible issues (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Grafana, Logstash );
- Be involved in all stages of the deployment from test environments until live production;
- Last but not least, you will learn. We are looking for someone with potential that over time;
- Can become a strong contributor in the company.
Requirements
We appreciate:
- BS degree or currently studying in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken);
- Highly motivated, self-driven and interested in automating repetitive tasks;
- Good communication skills and being a great team player;
- Basic knowledge of Linux operating system and shell scripting;
- Basic understanding of networking and virtual machines.
Would be a plus:
- Knowledge of version control systems (git);
- Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift or other similar container based
- applications;
- Experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery, Jenkins;
- Experience with nginx web servers.
