Role
The Edenred Digital Center (EDC) in Bucharest, Romania is Edenred Group's largest Digital hub for strategic tech projects.
We are looking for an Intermediate data engineer to join the IT department in Bucharest, Romania, in the Data Platforms team. You will be part of projects that will help Edenred Finland/Sweden to become a data driven organization. You will be working as Data Engineer closely with multi-disciplinary Agile teams.
Job description and key responsibilities
The position requires effective data tech skills, time management, team spirit, communication, and organizational abilities.
- identifying data sources, data processing concepts and methods
- evaluating, designing, and implementing on-premises, cloud-based and hybrid data engineering solutions
- structuring and storing data for uses including — but not limited to— analytics, machine learning, data mining, sharing with applications and organizations
- harvesting structured and unstructured data
- integrating, consolidating and cleansing data
- migrating and converting data
- applying ethical principles in handling data
- ensuring appropriate storage of data in line with relevant legislation
- building in security, compliance, scalability, efficiency, reliability, fidelity, flexibility, and portability
You will be part of our Community of Data Experts, located at Edenred Digital Center
Your key stakeholders are:
- N+1: Technology Leader and dotted line to Data Platforms Team Lead
- Internal: Architects, Agile teams, Business Data Analysts/Business Data Visualization Specialists, Product Manager, Product Owners, and executives (i.e. Business Sponsors)
- External: HQ’s Corporate IT Services, Remote Development Centers
Requirements
Required skills & profile
Candidates will have to demonstrate:
- 3+ years’ experience in Data Engineering,
- 1+ years’ experience on large SQL databases/ no SQL databases
- Skills in a least one data restitution tool (PowerBI / Tableau / SSRS / Kibana)
- Problem solving mindset, numerical and analytical skills
- Degree in Computer Science, IT or similar field
- Familiarity in using Agile Product Management (backlog, epics, stories, tasks, etc.) with Atlassian Jira or Microsoft Azure DevOps
- Experience in Azure data products / services such as Azure Analysis Service, Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, Azure Purview, Azure Data lake Storage, etc.
You will also have to demonstrate:
- Good communication skills, listening & understanding, flexibility & teamwork
- Simplicity: autonomy & resourcefulness
- Proficiency in English written & spoken
