Role
- Responsible for driving, coordinating, supervising and facilitating the work processes of Java teams.
- Actively leading and participating in the solution creation, effort estimation, development, and project implementation.
- Involved in strategic and sprint planning, daily standups, demos, and scoping of releases.
- Set SMART objectives for each team member that align with the team and organizational goals.
- Create, maintain, improve and provide needed resources to enable team members to do their work.
- Ensure efficient inter-team communication and disseminate information coming from outside the group.
- Create informative and accurate reports and ensure their distribution to interested management.
- Adhere to Garmin Engineering SOPs and Processes.
- Demonstrate broad understanding of Garmin’s business model, including operations, production, sales and marketing.
Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency and necessary experience in designing, enhancing and developing complex Java applications with Spring framework (5+ years).
- 2+ years of experience in leading software engineering teams.
- Solid abilities in organizing, planning, and prioritizing work.
- Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes.
- Ability to being a change agent.
- Ability to solve complex problems.
- Demonstrate mentoring experience in helping team members tailor their careers.
- Demonstrate strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Good English skills, verbal and written.
- Good knowledge of relational databases.
- Knowledge or passion to learn about the monitoring tools used to ensure the stability of our systems: AppDynamics, Uptrends, ELK stack.
