Role
The Mission:
The Global Engineering Platform is one of the strategic initiatives which enables ING to become one global bank. This is done with providing a way of working to all ING engineers in more than 40 different countries with a software collaboration and delivery platform which supports the one way of working.
The purpose of Global Engineering Platform is to enable ING to be within its IT Risk Appetite and to reduce the cost of compliance for ING and each individual DevOps teams by providing solutions for entity wide IT Risk controls. We assist our ING Engineers Globally in being successful by providing them a compliant CI/CD pipeline on which they can rely on for the bulk of the IT Risk and IT Security Controls.
The goal of the team is to create Azure DevOps functions and extensions in order to automate and optimize the development process for more than 10.000 engineers across ING Group, so that developers can focus only on engineering.
Requirements
Knowledge and experience:
- Proven experience on a similar role for at least 3-5 years ;
- Test Driven Development
- Knowledge about secure programming (e.g. OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities)
- Experience in developing applications using:
- C#; Javascript/Typescript

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – ability to explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences;
- You are customer-focused and communicative, and enjoy working as part of a team;
- You work in a meticulous and structured way;
- You can set up and follow a schedule;
- Strong capabilities to build internal confidence in a situation of constant change;
- Strong problem solving and analytical thinking - ability to diagnose and resolve ambiguous problems;

Nice to have:
- Azure Devops (TFS is welcomed too)
- You know how to adapt and work according to immutable / shift left / everything as code patterns
- Experienced in working in a complex environment, Agile methods and Software development frameworks;
- You have a 24x7 mindset and are willing to participate in a stand-by shift, knowing that ING operates a 24x7 business for its customers
- Experience with distributed teams is a plus;
