The Mission:
Ultimately, by significantly increasing the speed and accuracy of how we store and exchange data, we will be able to provide our customers with a more seamless user experience. As a colleague in the Data Quality Platform team, you will join one of the teams working closely with two Tribes: the Global Data Tribe which is responsible for activities that support effective data governance at ING and the DataLake Foundation Tribe which ensures a standardized and uniform infrastructure alongside a common way of working.
We are looking for an Ops Engineer to join our Data Quality Platform team.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Roll-out of the Data Quality framework in different european countries
- Offer pre and post-implementation support related to data quality to countries
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
- Prepare and produce releases of software components
- Contribute together with the rest of the team to continuous improvements of the development process
- Implementing new Datalake Foundations including the building of Metadata frameworks, integrating and/or engineering new technologies
- Enhancing and introducing a maintainable and scalable test automation strategy and implementing this together with the team with suitable tooling
- Integration of new modules/components
- Consulting ING countries/domains on the integration, testing and deployment of the metadata
- Explore and be open to learn and use new skills/novel technologies
Requirements
Who we are looking for?
- Good knowledge in installation/configuration/deployment of applications
- You have an up-to-date vision regarding IT expertise.
- You are able to get all typical and other backlog items from 'to do' to 'done'.
- You have mastered the full gamut of engineering skills:
- Problem analysis and solution design
- Knowledge of scripting on Unix/Linux systems is mandatory
- Experience with Release Automation and knowledge of Testing approaches
- Knowledge of SQL, understanding of Data Warehouse concepts
- Continuous Delivery (Compile, Build, Package, Deploy)
- Test-Driven Development (TDD) and test automation (e.g. regression, functional and integration tests)
- Debugging and profiling
- Software configuration management and version control
- Risk and security awareness
- Experience using private and public cloud
Nice to have:
- Experience with IBM Infosphere suite (Information Governance Catalogue, DataStage)
- Experience in Metadata Management is a plus
- Practical experience with Azure DevOps is a plus
