Role

We are currently looking for engineers to join us in these project teams:

The Garmin Connect IQ Team: The store is the source for personalizing compatible Garmin Devices with free downloads of apps, widgets, watch faces, data fields, music streaming services and more.

Garmin Connect Mobile: is our best known, Fitness and Outdoor power-house companion app catering to over 20 millions active users and supporting an ever growing number of compatible Garmin devices (around 150 at this point). The feature set is very rich and targets our complex user base with running, cycling, wellness, training, smartwatch, golfing, diving, and even pregnancy tracking feature.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge on Android components such as Services, Providers, Activities, Fragments, threading, BT/BLE API’s
  • Strong Java and Android Studio knowledge
  • Experience with Kotlin
  • Utilize software development tools and Instruments to develop, test, debug, and deploy quality software
  • Create and execute designs for software components within a larger project
  • Perform as a technical leader or Lead Software Engineer for derivative software project
  • Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced Software Engineers
  • Collaborate and add value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions
  • Provide reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques
  • Estimate level of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, offer suggestions to improve processes
  • Perform technical root cause analysis and outlines corrective action for given problems
  • BSc in Computer Science, IT or similar
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Android development
