Role
You will be part of the project team that develops the Garmin Connect IQ Store which is your all-in-one source for personalizing compatible Garmin devices with downloads of apps, widgets, watch faces, data fields, music streaming services, and more.
Garmin Connect Mobile is our best known, Fitness and Outdoor power-house companion app catering to over 20 million active users and supporting an ever-growing number of compatible Garmin devices (around 150 at this point). The feature set is very rich and targets our complex user base with running, cycling, wellness, training, smartwatch, golfing, diving, and even pregnancy tracking feature.
Garmin Outdoor provides our customers online mapping (real-time tracking, trip planning) and satellite text messaging (and other important features like Weather over-the-air). Our SOS satellite communication features rescue people every single day with inReach capable devices. Right now we are looking for a creative developer, to be engaged in the development of a new mobile app.
Garmin Pilot puts full-featured navigation — including our decades of experience with rich, interactive mapping, 3D Vision, aviation weather, global flight plan filing, electronic flight bag capabilities, optional traffic/weather, pilot logbook and more — right at your fingertips.
You will develop and design iOS applications using Swift, iOS SDK, Objective-C, Xcode, OOP following best practices and using standard development tools.
Requirements
- Design and build advanced applications for iOS platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and ship new features
- Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and general reliability
- Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
- Continuously discover, evaluate and implement new technologies to maximize development
- Good knowledge of Swift, iOS SDK, Xcode, OOP, knowledge of data structures and algorithms
- Familiarity with Objective-C
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, enthusiasm, strong work ethic
- Process-oriented with deep attention to details and ability to work both independently and as a member of a small team for problem solving and solution development
- Would be desired at least 3 years of experience in iOS development
- Would be considered a plus experience with Bluetooth, Promises, Swift UI, Combine or other reactive programming frameworks (RX Swift, Reactive Cocoa), and knowledge of Agile methodologies.
