Role

What is SME ?

SME (Small and Medium Enterprises) is an ING Group Initiative which is targeting the digital transformation of our Business Banking at group level. The aim is to provide a foundation for global development of solutions and features for Business Banking clients. This will enable us to unlock synergies between countries in the digital transformation and avoid duplication going forward.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Driving a BIZ-DEV-OPS squad as the Technical Product Owner representative;
  • Act as both business and technology evangelist in the product development;
  • Take part to different type of meetings, workshops or any other kind of interactions in order to be accountable on both business and technical point of view within the team;
  • Providing the purpose, context and direction to the team from both business and technical point of view, always taking into consideration the product goal and mission;
  • Throughout the product development phase, create requirements (with business, functional and sometimes technical details) in the forms of Themes, Epics, Features and Stories and facilitates backlog refinement sessions;
  • Make sure DOR (Definition of Ready), previously agreed with the team, is met for each backlog item;
  • Write clear Acceptance Criteria for both business and technical items, including Test scenarios if possible, following the BDD (Behavior Driven Development) principals;
  • Drive the planning sessions with focus on the deadlines and goals of the product and product release plan;
  • Make sure the DOD for each backlog item is accomplished;
  • Take part of the testing part, in some cases running technical tests, other times just validating from a functional / business perspective;
  • Partnering with the stakeholders, Area Product Owner and peers (representatives of other squads) to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value;
  • Providing an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Re-lease/Sprint Goals;
  • Reporting to IT and working together with business, solution architects, customer journey experts, domain architects etc.

Requirements

  • At least 3 -5 years of experience working as an IT Business Analyst / (Technical) Product Owner / Technical Project Manager in a software development environment;
  • Solid Agile experience with SCRUM and / or Kanban methodologies;
  • Familiar with solutions built on microservices using Java for BE and Angular for FE
  • Experience on working with distributed teams, international projects and multicultural business environment;
  • Ability to share knowledge and educate team in the business domain, understand and promote different technologies;
  • Proven ability to define a set of requirements that pinpoint business challenges and identify technical and business changes required to address them;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely across different software development and the business teams;
  • Experience in supporting/rolling out software;
  • Proactively validate with the stakeholders the added value and identify new opportunities, features and improvements;
  • A ‘go to’ person for the team when it comes to clarity and domain information;
  • Analytical thinking;
  • Excellent communication skills, pro-active and easy to approach attitude;
  • A person that takes timely and informative decisions;
  • Proficient level of English, any other language is a bonus;
  • Availability to interact with different cultures and switch context in short term.
