The Mission:

You will be working in one of the most challenging projects of ING Group, the rewrite of Global Financial Messaging Engine, a critical part of the group’s financial infrastructure. Use the latest technology stack and design principles to directly impact 45 ING entities and more than 300 back-offices.

Your Day-to-Day:

• Create applications, components and middleware by working closely with the other team members using the newest JVM/Scala/Akka technologies. Embrace emerging standards while promoting best practices;
• Take an active part in design and technical decisions on both new and existing components and processes;
• Be able to mix “big picture” reasoning with component level delivery;
• Initiate, iterate and continuously improve on technology, developing the product as well as the way of working;
• Take ownership by coding components and applications, as well as unit and integration tests;
• Follow coding and security standards, builds appropriate deployment scripts;
• Stay on top of new trends in software development technologies, with a focus on the Scala and distributed and concurrent computing with Akka, understand ING Touchpoint platform, components and standards;
• Accumulate business domain knowledge and be apple to apply the knowledge to everyday software developments, application architecture, workflow design and data flows, while understanding the current solution;
