Role
The Mission
IFS (International Financial System) it’s a core bank system for Wholesale Banking clients, which offers business services to many international branches of ING, like Madrid, Milan, Lisbon, Frankfurt, Vienna, London and Brussels. The main business services are payment and cash management (PCM) services, with additional lending and financial market services. It is an in-house developed service built on Microsoft stack technology, which is now operated and maintained out of Belgium.
You will be part of a new and high performing team, built in ING Tech around IFS project, with a medium-long term objective of delivering important and interesting features (like Instant Payments), but also of operating and maintaining IFS service. You will collaborate closely with the team from Belgium accordingly with Agile methodology.
Requirements
As an Operations Engineer, you will:
- Contribute to development and deployment of IFS application by working closely with the other team members. Embrace emerging standards on payments while promoting best practices in IT;
- Operating and close monitoring of the application. Run basic infrastructure operations. Take care of the transfer flows from/to our partners;
- Take an active part in design and technical decisions on both new and existing components;
- Be able to mix “big picture” reasoning with component level delivery;
- Initiate, iterate and continuously improve on technology, developing the product as well as the way of working;
- Take ownership for deployments, integration testing, performance issue or incidents;
- Follow coding and security standards, builds appropriate deployment scripts;
- Assure Incident/Problem/Change management. Assure that Penetration Test, DR, Backup and IT Risk controls are in place according to ING security standards.
What you bring to the team:
- High curiosity for the business domain and continuous improvements
- Good understanding of ITIL processes;
- Operations & monitoring experience;
- Functional programming and scripting appetite;
- Optimization techniques and strategies;
- Knowledge in SQL database and basic infrastructure (Load balancer, Networking, provisioning, Patching & vulnerabilities)
It will be considered a plus:
- Cloud experience (IPC)
- Connectivity knowledge of BEST
- Testing experience (Integration, System testing, Resilience)
- Coaching/mentoring experience
