The role is for an Engineer who enjoys software development and IT operations.

What you bring to the team

Dev:

• Good knowledge of Java 8 or above, design patterns, and SOLID principles
• Able to write clean, testable, extendable code with JUnit and Mockito (or other testing frameworks)
• Multithreading understanding
• Knowledge or willingness to learn C++ and Python
• Apply best practices and software architecture guidelines
• Has drive, likes to take ownership of their work, and is constantly looking for ways to improve both themselves and the project
• Develops software that is easy to change and can withstand the test of time
• Opened to pair programming, likes doing code reviews, has a test-first mentality, and is overall a passionate person willing to grow and help others
• Wants to understand the business and the needs of the stakeholders

Ops:

• Hands-on knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL)
• Thorough understanding of/and experience with Linux/ Windows, networking, scripting languages (e.g., bash, Python)
• Hands-on knowledge of Continuous Delivery tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Ansible), monitoring tools (such as Logstash, Kibana, El. Search, Zabbix), experience with running applications in Docker containers
• Incident and change management for support and release activities

Nice to have

• KDB and the Q language.
